My WordPress Journey: From CDA Student to Building a Portfolio (2024)

Hi everyone! I'm Ambadi Dileep, a recent graduate from CDA Digital Marketing Course in 2024. During my studies, I discovered the amazing world of WordPress and its potential for creating stunning websites and blogs.

Inspired by this newfound knowledge, I started on a journey to not only learn the intricacies of WordPress but also started to showcase my skills and build a portfolio.

Here's the thing, even though I was a CDA student, I was by no means an expert in programming. But WordPress's biggest advantage is that it doesn't need a deep understanding of programming. It's similar to having a toolbox full of assembled components that you may arrange to make something special.

WordPress looked like an entry point to creativity unlike just another website builder. WordPress provided a user-friendly interface that even a novice like me could understand, in contrast to some complicated systems.

In addition, I was astounded by how many themes and plugins were accessible. I could completely alter my portfolio to make it a perfect representation of my abilities and flair.

Why WordPress?

While there are many website creation platforms available, WordPress stood out for several reasons:

User-Friendly: Even as a beginner, I found WordPress's interface intuitive and easy to navigate.

Customization: WordPress offers a vast selection of themes and plugins, allowing me to personalize my portfolio and make it truly my own.

Open-Source: As an open-source platform, WordPress benefits from a large and supportive community, which is a valuable resource for learning and solving problems.

Building My Portfolio

I started wordpress by securing a domain name and web hosting. Here are some key points to consider when making these choices:

Domain Name: Choose a name that reflects your brand and is easy to remember. Ideally, it should be short and contain relevant keywords.

Web Hosting: Select a reliable web host that offers features like fast loading speeds, high uptime, security measures, and customer support.

Once the technical foundation was set, I delved into the creative includes. WordPress offers a wide range of themes specifically designed for portfolios. I explored various themes to find one that reflected with my style and effectively presented my work.

The Learning Curve
