| The EU PPWR, formally known as Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, supersedes the former Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive 94/62/EC with a harmonized strategy on packaging sustainability. The EU PPWR Regulation came into force on February 11, 2025, replacing the existing Directive with a uniform, directly applicable legal text across all EU Member States, with a general date of application set for August 12, 2026. | |
