| Kashmir Great Lakes is genuinely one of the most beautiful treks you'll ever do in India. Over 7-8 days, you'll visit seven stunning alpine lakes - Vishansar, Krishansar, Gadsar, Satsar, Gangabal, and Nundkol - each with its own unique charm and turquoise beauty.
Starting from Sonamarg, the 70-kilometer trek takes you through meadows absolutely covered in wildflowers during July-August. You'll cross high mountain passes like Gadsar at 13,750 feet with the twin Harmukh peaks creating an epic backdrop. The campsites beside crystal-clear lakes reflecting snow-capped mountains are pure magic.
It's moderately difficult, so you need decent fitness and some trekking experience. Nights get cold, so pack warm layers. Best season is July to September when weather's stable and meadows bloom wild. This trek will spoil every other trek for you - it's that good! |
