PAKISTAN NORTHERN AREAS Northern areas of Pakistan are great tourist
destinations. There are many tourists attractions in northern areas of
Pakistan. You can visit them with your family and friends for a long time.
Gilgit Baltistan is one of the wonderful places in northern areas of Pakistan
it has many beautiful places to visit like Nanga Parbat, Skardu, Hunza, Rama
lake, and many other beautiful places. Hunza is a great tourist destination you
can enjoy here you will never forget this place because of its beauty and
history. Skardu is also known as a paradise on earth. Obama Lake is one of the
most famous places in Astore. It is situated at a distance of 100 Kilometers
away from Astore city on way to the Desai plains. Nanga Parbat is the ninth
highest mountain on earth at 8126-meter height. It is also known as a killer
mountain because there are more than 70 mountaineers who died while climbing
this mountain. One of the famous mountaineers is Ali Sadpara who had successfully climbed
eight of the 14 mountains which are more than eight thousand meters (26,247 ft) in height. His first climb was Gasherbrum II, located in
the Karakoram range. He also died while serving K2, no one has ever been able
to reach its peak without help via oxygen tanks, etc. If anyone did that he/
`she will be always remembered by people for achieving such an impossible thing
in the world. HUNZA: Hunza is a mountainous valley situated in the
Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. In the north of Hunza valley lies Hunza River, at an elevation of around 2,500 meters.
The territory of Hunza is about 7,900 square kilometers. Aliabad is the main
town while Baltit is a popular tourist destination because of the spectacular
scenery of the surrounding mountains like Ultar Sar, Rakaposhi, Bojahagur
Duanasir II, and Ghent Peak. It's about 100 km from Gilgit city which itself is
a popular tourist attraction. Karimabad (formerly called Baltit) is a small
town on the Karakoram Highway in the Hunza Valley, Pakistan which connects
China and Pakistan across the Karakoram mountain range. GILGIT: Gilgit is the capital city of Gilgit-Baltistan,
an administrative territory of Pakistan. The city of Gilgit constitutes a
tehsil within Gilgit District. It is also a major tourist destination in
Pakistan, especially for mountaineering, trekking, and fishing. SKARDU: Skardu is a city in the Gilgit-Baltistan region
of Pakistan and serves as the capital of the Skardu District. Skardu is located
in the 10-kilometers (6 miles) wide by 40 kilometers (25 miles) long Skardu
Valley, at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar Rivers at an elevation of
nearly 2,500 meters (8,200 feet). The town is considered a gateway to the
eight-thousanders of the nearby Karakoram Mountain range. Skardu is located on the Indus river, which
separates the Karakoram Range from the Himalayas. The town is at an altitude of nearly 2,500 m
(8,200 ft). CHILAS: Chilas is famous for its ancient rock carvings,
many of which are located along the banks of the Indus River. These carvings
date back to between 3000 BC and 1000 BC, and they include petroglyphs such as
animals and cupules. On your way to Babusar Pass, you'll see some of these rock
carvings displayed in a museum near Nagri. Those coming from Islamabad will find Chilas to
be the last major town for them to stop and refuel. Gas stations are plentiful
in Chilas and the highways leading out of it, but those heading into
Gilgit-Baltistan or beyond should refuel here before continuing. GUPIS: If you love nature, Gupis is a place for you. The
region is famous for its alpine landscape and many glaciers. A German
geographer, Dr. Leitner, was so fascinated by the beauty of this place that he
decided to settle here forever. He wrote a book in German called
"Dardistan in Wort und Bild" (Land of the Dards) which has been
translated into English and Urdu. YASIN VALLEY: Yasin valley is in the North West of Pakistan and
is famous for its scenic beauty, lakes, and glaciers. The valley is surrounded
by green meadows and snow-covered peaks. The Yasin Valley is a major attraction
for tourists during the summer season. Highlights: Surrounded by green meadows and snow-covered
peaks Lakes and glaciers KHUMAR: Khumar is a village in the Yasin Valley of Ghizer
District in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. It is located at an
altitude of 10,000 feet (3,000 m) above sea level. SHIMSHAL: Shimshal Village is located in the upper Hunza
Valley, in Gojal; it is the highest village in the Hunza Valley. It lies 3,900
meters (12,796 feet) above sea level. The village is accessible through a jeep
track from Passu which is connected to Karakoram Highway. Locals consider it to
be one of the most beautiful villages in Pakistan and its inhabitants are famed
for their mountaineering skills and western adventurers. Shimshal is are famous
for its trekking routes. The terrain varies from glaciers to high mountain
passes, lakes and green meadows with flowers during the summer months, and
snow-clad mountains during the winter months.[citation needed]. There are 14 more villages under the
administration of the Shimshal administrative division namely Zoodkhun, Chong
Khun, Kukshaal Khun, Kukh Ghundi Sarat (Ghupis), Gulkin (Gulkin has been
abandoned), Hapakun Khun / Chaprot Sarat (Qumier), Qumzeer Khun, Zdigar Sarat
(Sheghurmerav), Chafchingol Chasht/Sar & Darshan/Sarat & Kharkho /
Tezma Gorikho/Sarat and other two unidentified places Kunji Sarat and Barmas
Sarat. SHANDUR TOP: Shandur Top (el. 3734 m or 12,278 ft) is a
mountain pass that connects Chitral with Gilgit.- The Shandur Polo Ground is the highest in the
