| The counterfeiting of auto parts and accessories has become a growing global threat in today’s day and age. With the increase in sales of these non-genuine parts, there is immense concern about the safety on roads. These counterfeit parts and accessories are designed to look exactly alike to the genuine parts, but when it comes to performance, they are nowhere close to the quality of genuine parts.
Keeping this in mind, SIAM (Society of Indian Automobiles Manufacturers) has taken the initiative and brought forward the “anti-counterfeit week” to tackle the issue and to spread awareness among the customers. Hyundai Mobis as a brand has also taken various steps to eliminate the use of counterfeit parts from the aftermarket.
Every year, we at Hyundai Mobis have a different theme to mark the anti-counterfeit week. For this year, we decided to focus on the safety aspect of the customers. Hence, we’ve come up with a weeklong campaign named “SAFETY MEIN ZERO COMPROMISE.” We have optimally utilized all our digital platforms to spread awareness on the use of ONLY genuine parts and accessories, which is a sure way to increase the reach and effectiveness of the campaign.
We are also putting efforts in regularly conducting aftermarket raids and inspections by tracking down unauthorized dealers and seizing non-genuine parts. Recently, Mobis India has forfeited over Rs. 1.1 Crore worth of goods from unauthorized shops from 6 different states including Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and have taken serious legal action against these offenders.
As a protective measure for the customers, we have cracked an easy way to identify between genuine and non-genuine parts. These 5 security features on the MRP label makes Hyundai genuine parts and accessories easily identifiable. They’re are as follows:
1) If you tilt the MRP label, you’ll see a Hyundai hologram
2) In the hologram, the H logo keeps changing to the Mobis logo
3) Tilt to view the Hyundai logo turning into Mobis logo
4) Tilt to then view the Hyundai logo
5) Scratch the tip of the MRP label and you can read a message saying “Thank You for using Hyundai genuine parts.”
