Vidya Chetana supports higher education for underprivileged students

Vidya Chetana is a Youth for Seva initiative that launched in 2009. Its main purpose is to assist students in obtaining a higher education. After passing the SSLC Exam, meritorious students are selected for this program. You have the power to alter a child's fate. You can help these students by making an educational donation online. Vidya Chetana is an initiative of Youth for Seva that began in 2009. Its primary goal is to help students have a chance at higher education by connecting underprivileged families and donors. Basic necessities like food, shelter, and clothing are out of reach for many students. Education is not prioritised in such times, which results in students dropping out and being forced down the path of illiteracy.

You have the ability to avert students dropping out midway when you donate fund for education of a student or sponsor a student. We commit to improving the quality of life for socio-economically underprivileged students by educating them and giving them opportunities to find employment that will create new income streams.

Especially when educational institutions were shut down due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, many students were in need of support. We aim to help these aspirational students in need. Our most successful scholarship program helps thousands of students each year in pursuing their higher educations.

The Sponsor a Child Programme supports:

• PUC (10 + 2) scholarship

• Degree scholarship

• Engineering scholarship

• Medical scholarship

How does the programme work?

To identify whether students are eligible for financial aid, volunteers working for Vidya Chetana conduct a survey. Selected students are classified according to their educational streams. Further, the education profiles of particular students are shown to potential sponsors to fund. Contributors have the freedom to select a student of their choice who is educationally and financially eligible for sponsorship. Once the funds have been received, they are disbursed to the sponsored students.

Vidya Chetana maintains complete transparency with the donors and provides 100% visibility of how their donation was utilised along with sharing the progress of the sponsored student. By this, we hope to encourage donors to re-join and participate in the next campaigns.  At Vidya Chetana, we are looking for more students to be sponsored by reliable sponsors and seek long-term relationships with our donors. When you make a donation to Vidya Chetana, you will save on your income tax by availing 80G exemption in your tax liability. All contributions of ₹500 and above towards are considered as tax-deductible donation under 80G paid for education, allowing you to receive tax relief on your donated amount!
